A man was arrested recently after hitting an 80-year-old school crossing guard in the face, which caused the poor guy to fall to the ground. Why? Who knows!
William Anthony Vindigni, 36, walked up and struck William Reynolds in the face while Reynolds was minding crossing two elementary school children. Luckily, the children were uninjured, but Reynolds sure got the surprise of a lifetime!
Vindigni fled on foot, but was located by police a short time later, where he resisted arrest. He grabbed and pinched a deputy on the back of her leg during the struggle, which didn’t win him any brownie points! He was taken into custody and charged with aggravated battery, battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.
Reynolds was fine, but was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The police are still trying to figure out what set Vindigni off, but it appears to have been an isolated incident. Luckily, he can’t harm any more retirees doing some good work for their community!
