Disgruntled Employee Hired Homeless Man to Commit Robbery at Restaurant to Teach Boss a Lesson

You have got to be REALLY unhappy with your job if you go to such lengths to teach your boss a lesson! Apparently, her boss continually sent his wife to open the restaurant where the employee worked, while he stayed home. For whatever reason, that really set this employee off!

Chanh Tran, 47, felt that the owner’s wife was being taken advantage of, and she finally had enough of it. “It was not fair to make his wife work more, and possibly was dangerous for her,” Tran told the police of her motive behind the planned robbery attempt.

To get back her boss, she hired a homeless man in the area to pretend to rob the restaurant while the women were there in the morning opening things up alone.

The homeless man, Conan Dehut, 36, was offered a cell phone and cash to pretend to rob the restaurant. They even practiced how to pull the fake robbery off together in order to “make it look as real as possible.”

While they were practicing, Dehat was supposed to drag the owner’s wife to the back of the restaurant and place a knife to her throat, Tran would then offer him money to leave them alone. However, things didn’t quite go that way.

Dehut double-crossed them and attempted to REALLY rob them. Once he forced his way inside, Tran gave him the money they were supposed to be practicing with, which he took and fled with. Dehut also cut Tran on the arm with the knife he was carrying to pull off a real robbery.

Tran immediately called the police, where she told them she was robbed at knifepoint. After an investigation, however, the police found surveillance footage of Tran dropping Dehut off behind the restaurant an hour before the “fake” robbery happened.

Dehut was quickly found and both he and Tran were arrested on attempted robbery, unlawful use of a weapon and menacing charges. Clearly, Tran is going to lose her job, as well. We can’t help but wonder if her boss stayed at home relaxing during all the madness.
