El Paso Police Officers arrested Roberto Urquidi and charged him with attempted murder. KFOX14 reported the victim was stabbed early in the morning on February 6th, 2015. The victim is in critical condition. Urquidi is being held at the El Paso County Jail on a $100,000 bail bond. An off-duty Border Patrol agent, Alberto Montelongo, has been charged with two counts of criminal attempted murder. El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies were called when neighbors heard gunshots. Upon arriving, deputies discovered it was a domestic violence situation and Montelongo barricaded himself with two other people inside. Jesus Rodriguez had gone to visit his girlfriend, Angelica Parra, who is married to Montelongo. Montelongo allegedly shot both people leaving Rodriguez in critical condition. Texas Machete Attack: Man Pleads Guilty to Murder

An Amarillo man has pleaded guilty to charges that he used a machete to hack a man to death and severely injure his former girlfriend. 34-year-old Joseph Keith Hayes was sentenced to life in prison. Hayes apparently was jealous back in February 2014 when he used a spare key to gain entry to his former girlfriend's apartment. He attacked both the woman and her new boyfriend, killing Nathaniel Wayne Miller and severely injured his ex. In 2012, a Texas Highway Patrol trooper died in El Paso after a two-vehicle crash. Javier Arana Jr., 32, was responding to pursuit call when his patrol car was struck by a Ford Ranger driven by 18-year-old Edgardo Flores. The trooper’s vehicle caught fire, and Arana died on the scene. Nearly two years later in court, the defense argued witnesses saw Arana run the red light.
