In a sweet story over the Christmas holiday, a 5-year-old boy in Mississippi called 911 to hopefully prevent the Grinch from stealing Christmas. Even better? The police made an arrest!
TyLon Pittman, 5, watched How The Grinch Stole Christmas and decided it was time to take immediate action to save Christmas this year. So he called the police to report the intentions of the mean Grinch. You can imagine this 911 dispatcher’s surprise! The dispatcher finally got TyLon’s dad on the phone, who had no idea what the boy was up to.
“Boy, you better stop watching so many cartoons!” he said, as the dispatcher listened on. But instead of marking the call as a prank, the cops actually showed up to let TyLon know that he saved the day!
“I asked TyLon if he saw the Grinch, what would he do, and he said he’d call us back and get us to come and take him to jail. So, I ended up looking around and found him myself,” Police Officer Lauren Develle said.
Police, indeed, arrested the Grinch and brought TyLon down to the police department to positively identify him.
“You have saved Christmas for the people. Your bravery is unmatched and you have saved the day,” the police told the boy.
What a great story in a world that doesn’t see so many good things come to light when needed!
